First United Methodist at 1st St and Grant

After several Community Meetings and lots of research and input, the Central Park Community Garden is moving from Vision to Reality.  Thanks to Ann Polunsky at Phoenix Day, Pastor Rosemary Anderson from Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida Church at 1st St and Grant and a core group of Central Park residents, the Central Park Community Garden has been officially launched.   The Community Garden is being funded with monies from a Community Grant that Phoenix Day received from St. Luke’s Health Initiatives.

Our first Community Garden Work Day will happen this coming Saturday, August 21st at 7 AM.   We will be staking out the garden beds and building the wood frames.  All CentralPark residents are invited to attend.  We will start working at 7 am and plan to work 2 hours before it gets too hot.  Please remember to bring hats, gloves, sunscreen, etc. for working outside.  Also, if you can bring a hammer that would be great.
